Hey all! I am a mom of two wonderful girls, ages 6 and 9. I adore these ages, but recently discovered how much I miss their baby days! My sister just gave birth (last night!) to her second, a girl, and it made me reminisce about when my two girls were born. I love telling their stories cause they are so different!

My first was a schedule induction...my blood pressure kept rising, so on her due date they scheduled me for 5 days later. It was the longest day of my life!! We were admitted into the hospital at 6:30 in the morning, but she wasn't born until 1:51 the next morning!! She was big (9 lbs. 10 oz and 22 1/2 inches long!) and wouldn't come out "naturally". So, I was wisked away at 1 in the morning for an emergency C-section! Not the way i wanted to have my first, but not my choice by this time!

When she finally came into this world she was the MOST gorgeous baby I'd ever seen! and NO, I was no biased! O.K., maybe a little! My husband had to go home and get another outfit to bring her home in since the one we brought was a newborn size! She never wore her newborn clothes since she was so big!!

My second, though, was totally uneventful! She was a scheduled C-section. The doc on my first botched up my incision so bad there was no way i could have a natural birth again!

The only surprise on our second was how SMALL she was!! 6 lbs 9 oz!! She was so tiny! But, so beautiful!!

What's your Baby Story??

My son was born in December of 2003 which makes him 4 years old. I gained over 50 lbs with him AND LOOKED it. Overall I had some morning sickness but the pregnacy itself wasn't too bad. I was over a week late when they decided to induce. They started on a Tuesday evening and he wasn't born until Thursday afternoon. He's still a stubborn bugger to this day. I did deliver naturally but with an epidural, although I almost missed out on it. I was actually only pushing for about 10 minutes so that part wasn't too bad. Two days of labor was awful though.

My daughter was born in November of 2007 which makes her 5 1/2 months old. She has been a pain from the get-go! First they thought she was ectopic so I was at the Dr. 3 times a week for ultrasounds until they could confirm otherwise. Then my morning sickness was so bad I got dehydrated, lost weight and needed to be on an IV. Then I gained 70lbs! A couple of days before my due date she was breech so they scheduled a c-section. The night before the c-section he scanned me and she had flipped into position. Cancelled c-section and waited a week. No signs of her moving so we scheduled an induction....my water broke the day before the scheduled induction. During labor she wasn't budging either to the point they were talking c-section again. She finally dropped down about 2 hours before they were going to do the c-section but then while I was pushing she wouldn't come out for a long time. The Dr. ended up using the vacuum (scared me silly) because her heart rate dropped. I did not have an epidural because my Dr. kept stalling me and then it was too late. The recovery without the epidural was much quicker than with one, so no real complaints there.

Here's my son at birth:

And here's my daughter at birth:

My daughter was born in March 2006. I was 6 days past due when they induced me. I was in labor for 11 hours when she was finally born in the evening. I pushed for 3 hours and they had to use the suction. They had been threatening a c section and said they would only try the vacuum twice. On the second try it worked! My daughter was born a big baby. She was 9 lbs, 11 ozs, and 22 inches long. Seems like so long ago already.

You've got me beat by an ounce! I can't believe you had her "natural"!!! I am super short, so that had alot to do with the c-section! My daughter's feet were caught up under my rib cage and the rest of her was sideways...no matter what the doc did he couldn't straighten her up.
